Tour Notes

What is Kawasan Falls Canyoneering?

Canyoneering (also called canyoning) is a guided adventure route through the Kanlaob/Matutinao River canyon in Badian, South Cebu. It combines trekking, swimming, cliff jumping, and natural rock slides, ending at the base of the multi-tier Kawasan Falls.

Are there age or fitness restrictions?

-Minimum age is 12 years old
-Health limits given the physical demands (jumping, swimming, scrambling).

What happens if it rains or the river conditions are unsafe?

Tours can be suspended or rerouted after heavy rain, since the canyon can turn from clear to fast and murky quickly. If your guide calls off or shortens the tour, it's a safety call worth respecting rather than contesting

Can I skip the cliff jumps if I don't want to jump?

Yes — the jumps are optional. Guides typically offer an alternate way past each jump point (a ladder, rope, or walk-around path) for anyone who'd rather not jump. The swimming, wading, and sliding sections of the route are generally required to keep the group moving through the canyon, but no one is forced to make a jump they're not comfortable with.

Is it safe? Do I need to know how to swim?

Yes, it's a well-established, guided activity, but basic swimming ability and reasonable fitness are recommended since the route involves jumps, swimming across pools, and scrambling over rocks. Life vests are provided and required.

Kawasan Falls Cleanup

Kawasan Falls undergoes regular monthly cleaning and rehabilitation every third Wednesday of the month.
