How to Get There
By Air
Siquijor has its own airport with direct flights from Cebu via Sunlight Air, though not on a daily basis. Alternatively, you can fly into Dumaguete–Sibulan Airport (DGT), about 27 km from the port, which has daily flights from Manila and Cebu on carriers like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. From there, it's an easy trip to the port to catch a ferry to Siquijor.
By Sea
Dumaguete is the main gateway to Siquijor for air travelers. OceanJet Fast Ferry runs multiple daily trips, taking about 1 hour. Ferries depart from Dumaguete Port and arrive at Siquijor Port or Larena Port. Coming from Bohol, OceanJet Fast Ferry also operates from Tagbilaran Port to Siquijor, with several daily departures and a journey time of around 2 hours.
Getting Around
Once on the island, here's how to get around. The most popular, cost-effective option at PHP 240–400 per day, giving you the flexibility to explore at your own pace.Tricycles are great for short distances or tours around the island. For more comfort, rent a vehicle with a driver through local agencies or your accommodation.Note that public transport like jeepneys and buses is limited, so motorbikes, tricycles, and private vehicles are your best bets.

While the island can be visited in any season, weather conditions vary during the year, so the best time to visit depends on your preferences and the type of experience you are looking for.The weather in Siquijor is generally warm and tropical, with temperatures typically ranging from 25–32°C (77–90°F). The drier months usually bring more sunshine and calmer seas, making them particularly ideal for beach days, swimming, island hopping and exploring the island by scooter or car. The wetter months can bring occasional rain showers, higher humidity and rougher sea conditions, but they also bring lush green landscapes, fewer visitors and a more peaceful atmosphere.
Dry Season (Dec - May)
Siquijor's tropical climate makes it visitable year-round, but March to May offers the best weather — ideal for outdoor activities and beach adventures during this peak period.
Wet Season (June - Nov)
June to October brings heavy rainfall and occasional storms that can disrupt travel plans. Ferry crossings from Dumaguete may be canceled due to weather, so stay updated and keep backup plans ready.
Peak Season - Holy Week

Cash is king here, though ATMs exist in Siquijor, San Juan, and Larena (bring backup cash for remote areas and mind withdrawal limits). Cards work at some hotels and larger businesses, but smaller shops and eateries are cash-only.
Accessing Internet:
Globe and Smart cover most of the island, with Globe strongest in Siquijor town, though signal weakens in remote or southern/eastern areas. Wi-Fi is available at hotels and cafes in main towns, but mobile data is a good backup for reliability.
Swimming & Safety Tips:
Swim at high tide and wear water shoes to avoid sea urchins. Despite its reputation for black magic, Siquijor is safe for travelers — crime isn't a real concern, so explore freely.
Diving:
Siquijor offers year-round diving with warm, stable waters (79-86°F) — calmer December to May, rougher June to November, though shore-close sites stay accessible either way. Its 23 dive sites suit all levels and teem with marine life, from frogfish and nudibranchs to turtles, rays, and barracuda.
