All the info you need to know about Puerto Princesa
Like the rest of Palawan, Puerto Princesa is a highly protected territory and considered one of the few green cities in the Philippines.
A third of its population is concentrated in the city proper, which is faces Puerto Princesa Bay. The rest of the city is underdeveloped, with huge trees, forests, mountains, and wide coastal beaches.
What to see:
If you want to spend your holiday in Puerto Princesa here are some of our favourite places, not to be missed during your stay:
- Underground River: a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. The Puerto Princes’s Subterranean River one of the most popular tourist attraction in the Philippines.
- Honda Bay: Go Island hopping and discover the abundant marine life and coral reefs. Honda Bay is only 20 minutes away from the city proper.
- Nagtabon Beach: located 25km-drive from city proper, this amazing beach is 800 meters long and 15 meters wide, with fascinating picnic area and panoramic views that won’t leave you indifferent.
- Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Princess Eulalia Park, and Plaza Cuartel: these remarkable historical attractions are located in the city centre, just walking distance away from each other.
When to go:
Puerto Princesa can be visited all year round.
The best time to travel is during the dry season between November and early May. This is also the tourist’s peak seasons when the hotel rates are generally higher.
If you travel during the wet season, from June to September, you may encounter some short bursts of heavy rainfall and strong wind. The bad weather may last for a few days.
Puerto Princesa is rarely in the direct path of the typhoons.
Getting There
From El Nido
-Public Transportation: There are several shuttle van companies that offer a direct link between Puerto Princesa and El Nido Corong Corong Terminal.
Shuttle vans are daily and run almost every hour from 6.00am until 6.00pm. The journey from El Nido to Puerto Princesa usually take around 5-6 hours.

From Manila, Cebu, and Boracay
