An exciting full day to that combine the scenic Kawasan Falls and the marine sanctuary of Pescador Island and Panagsama beach that is renowned for the incredible sardine run that delights snorkellers just metres offshore.
Pescador Island is a rocky island located in the Tanon Strait, a few kilometres from the western coast of Cebu, in the municipality of Moalboal.
The island derives its name from the Philippines’ Spanish colonial heritage and the abundance of fish living on the surrounding coral reef, and the many fishermen that fish them (“pescador” translates from Spanish to “fisherman“).
The warm waters of Pescador Island harbour a very rich marine life, with over 2,500 species of fish.
Panagsama Beach in Moalboal is a unique destination where sardines congregate, forming huge schools right at the reef drop-off, just meters from shore. Here you can experience the “Sardine Run“. It’s a unique natural phenomena with millions of sardines swirling around like a living wall.
Located 17km south of Moalboal, Kawasan Falls comprises a series of three waterfalls; the largest cascades 20m into a massive, milky-blue swimming hole. It ‘also the most crowded. The second and third waterfalls are less touristy and more peaceful.
