PADI Open Water Diver course
The PADI Open Water Diver course typically takes three to four days to complete and involves three main phases.
First, the Knowledge Development phase teaches you the essential techniques, terminology, and safety procedures needed for scuba diving.
Second, the Confined Water Dives phase provides training in a pool or pool-like conditions to familiarize you with the gear and basic diving skills, ensuring your safety.
Finally, the Open Water Dives phase is where you make your first dives in the ocean, performing various skills both underwater and on the surface to prove your competence as a diver. During the training portion, you will dive with your instructor and explore the underwater world.
After your open water training dives are approved by your instructor, you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver. This certification allows you to rent diving equipment and dive anywhere in the world down to 18 meters for life.
