Dumaluan Beach
Dumaluan Beach, located on the south coast of Panglao Island, is easily our top favorite beach in Bohol. It features a long stretch of fine, powdery white sand and clear, turquoise water, with a gentle shoreline that’s great for families and casual swimmers. Because it’s so wide and open, it feels far more spacious and relaxed than nearby Alona Beach. It’s noticeably calmer and less commercial. You’ll find resorts, a handful of beachfront restaurants, and local vendors, but none of the heavy crowds.
👉 Getting there: The easiest way to reach Dumaluan is by tricycle. It’s about 15 minutes from Alona Beach, roughly 10 minutes from Panglao Airport, and around 30 minutes from Tagbilaran Port
Alona Beach
Alona Beach, located on the southwest coast of Panglao Island, is the most famous and vibrant hub on the island. It features a half-kilometer stretch of soft white sand lined with a lively mix of resorts, beachfront restaurants, and dive shops, making it a great base for exploring Bohol. The shoreline leads into clear, turquoise waters that are rich in marine life, making it a popular spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Compared to quieter spots nearby, Alona has a bustling, energy-filled atmosphere, especially as the sun goes down and the beachfront comes alive with dining and music.
👉 Getting there: Alona Beach is also exceptionally convenient, sitting just a 10-minute drive from Panglao International Airport and 30 minutes from the Tagbilaran ferry terminal.
Anda Beaches
Anda, located on the eastern coast of Bohol, is widely considered one of the island’s best-kept secrets. Rather than being just a single beach, Anda is a stunning stretch of coastline made up of several distinct shores, with Quinale Beach being the most famous for its soft white sand, clear turquoise waters, and peaceful atmosphere.
The best way to experience the area is to rent a motorbike and self-explore at your own pace, hopping between quiet coves, swimming, snorkeling, and discovering nearby natural attractions like Can-Umantad Falls and scenic rice terraces.
👉 Getting there: Anda is about a 2-hour drive from Tagbilaran City. Booking a private van is the most comfortable option. Alternatively, taking an express bus is the cheapest way to travel, though the journey can take 3 to 4 hours with stops along the route.
Doljo Beach
Doljo Beach sits on the northwestern tip of Panglao Island, a quiet, uncrowded stretch of soft white sand and calm, shallow water. Its long coastline is partly lined with upscale resorts, while other sections remain open to the public. It’s a noticeably peaceful escape and is especially loved for its sunsets.
Public facilities along the shore are limited, so bring your own water, snacks, and essentials for a simple, laid-back beach day. The beach is also great for a casual walk. If you plan to swim or snorkel near the seagrass areas, wear water shoes to protect against sea urchins.
👉 Getting there: Doljo Beach is just 15 to 20 minutes by road from Alona Beach and the airport. The easiest way to get there is by tricycle or taxi.
Bikini Beach
Bikini Beach lies on the southern coast of Dauis, on Panglao Island, and is known for its clear waters and shady palm trees. The calm, shallow shoreline is backed by grassy park areas that run right down to the water, which makes it a natural spot for a picnic. On weekends it fills up with local families and picnickers, so it’s much quieter on weekdays, when you can slow down and enjoy the surroundings.
Facilities along the shore are minimal, so bring your own food, drinks, and picnic essentials.
